Basil Varghese is the CEO of the National Education and
Employment Foundation (NEEF). Previously, he has worked with the
Ecumenical Migration Centre at the Brotherhood of St Laurence and
Toundi Aboriginal Community College.　
Basil has promoted the vision and mission ofbridging the gap
between those who have and have notto students, teachers,
academics, educators, community groups, unions, churches, business,
bureaucrats and politicians from various parties.
He is interested in how people can become champions in the
struggle to create a just and loving society. All his work has been
informed by the spirituality of justice and the importance of
community arts.
He believes that the challenge is to discover how individuals
can join with others in　different and imaginative ways to engage in
the world, and to begin to struggle in joy-sometimes in pain-to
create peace and justice.
